in a circuit, a current of 2.0 A is drawn from a battery. The current then divides and passes through two resistors in parallel. One of the resistors in parallel. One of the resistors has a value of 64 ohms and the current through it is .40 A. What is the value of the other resistor?

a) 8.0 ohms

b) 16 ohms

c) 24 ohms

d) 32 ohms

In parallel connection Voltage across both resistors is equal

V 1 = 64 * 0.4 = 25.6 V

V2 = 25.6

V2 = i2 R2

i1 + i2 = 2 A

i1 = 0.4

i2 = 2 - 0.4 = 1.6 A

i2 R2 = V2

1.6 * R2 = 25.6

R2 = 16 Ohms
