For a closed pipe 22.7 m long, what is the frequency of the fifth harmonic at 90 F? What is the wavelenght?

First 90o F converts to 32.2o C

Then apply v = 331 sqrt(1 + T/273)

v = 331 sqrt (1 + 32.2/273)

v = 350 m/s

For the 5th harmonic, there will 9/4 waves in the pipe

22.7/(9/4) = 10.1 m

Thus the wavelength = 10.1 m

The frequency is from v = f(wavelength)

350 = f(10.1)

f = 34.7 Hz
