A dragster accelerates to a speed of 100 m/s over a distance of 398 m. Determine the acceleration (assume uniform) of the dragster.

First - recall the kinematic equation V^2 = V_0^2 + 2*a*x

In this problem,
we are solving for a,
V  = 100 m/s
V_0 = 0 m/s
and x = 398 m

Plug them in and Solve

(100m/s)^2 = 0^2 + 2 * a * 398
>> 10,000-m^2/s^2 / 2 / 398-m = a
>> 12.56 m/s^2 = a

a = 12.56 m/s^2
