A voltage V is applied across the ends of a Nichrome heater wire having a cross-sectional area A and length L. The same voltage is applied across the ends of a second Nichrome heater wire having a cross-sectional area A and length 2L. Which wire gets hotter? Select one:

power= V^2/R

V being same for both wire, that wire will get hotter which has less resistance

R=rho *L/A

Longer wire has greater resistance and hence doesn't gets more hotter as compared to shorter wire

Ans: b the shorter wire
